100-member Pakistani youth delegation left here for China under YEP      
ISLAMABAD, Apr 19 (APP): A 100‑member delegation comprising youth across the country left here for China here Sunday under the Youth Exchange Programme (PEP) of the Ministry of Youth Affairs.

     

Headed by Federal Minister for Youth Affairs, Shahid Hussain Bhutto, the delegation comprises the students of 15 to 29 years of

age selected from all the four provinces on the basis of their brilliant performance in both co‑curricular and extra‑curricular activities.

      During its seven‑day stay in China, the delegates will visit major cities of China and attend various seminars and conferences at Chinese Universities in order to exchange the ideas regarding education, culture, and the field of science and technology among the youth of both countries.

      Prior to leaving for China, Shahid Hussain Bhutto told APP that both the countries exchange their youth delegations annually under Pak‑China Friendship programme.

      鈥淭hese youngsters are the ambassadors of Pakistan and  they can portray soft image of the country through such  programmes,鈥 he remarked.

      Pakistan enjoy cordial and friendly relations with China and initiating such type of programmes will help create understanding among the youth of both the countries and strengthen further bonds.

      In this regard, the youth delegation of China visited Pakistan in February this year to pave way for further improvement of the youth exchange programmes.

      Talking about National Internship Programme, the minister said that the inaugural ceremony of NIP would be held on April 25 from Larkana while a total of 22,000 youth will be accommodated in the programme with the stipend of Rs. 10,000 per month.

      He further said that National Volunteer Movement (NVM) would also be made functional soon with different welfare and development  programmes.

      To address other issues regarding youth, the National Youth Policy would serve the youth at maximum in the country in order to make them useful citizens of the country.
